Ian Gammie, ed.
Charles Dibdin wrote these 18 dances for the Shakespeare Jubilee celebrations of 1769. They all have titles referring to the plays or to Shakespearean characters; in addition, each dance has the original dancing instructions. The 2-part original is treble and bass, but an editorial third part is provided for larger ensemble use or as an ad lib keyboard part.
Music as above but with melody parts re-edited to fit recorders. Because of tranpositions, this edition is not interchangeable with the violin version.
