A copious preface provides a description of the elementary notions, in some cases in the form of a glossary of terms, while surveying the symbols used for notation, the shades of expression, the principal musical forms in use together with the rules for performance. A second section offers 118 examples most of which are whole pieces.
With the violin part that was attached to the original edition by FP Ricci in 1779.
